Analytics
It’s Not Enough JUST to Just Create a Blog, You NEED Analytics To Measure It’s Effectiveness

Some people can just hear the word analytics and they cringe, shut down and consider crawling under the table in a fetal position. Ok, maybe that was how I use to react to the work analytics. Don’t judge me people! Well at one time I would just hear the word and think, “I’ll pass…” That was until I took an analytics class in grad school. Upon starting the class it was like a duck to water, like batman to robin, like Lady GaGa to weirdness.
Oops I got carried away for a second, but you get my point. I absolutely LOVE analytics and I still do. This is odd considering that I am not a real fan of math.
Well one of the reasons that I really embrace analytics is that it presents the opportunity to see the fruits of your labor. You actually have an indication of the efffectiveness or the web presence, social media presence or blog that you’ve been working so hard to promote. If you spend time, money and effort created a blog or website it is essential to monitor it’s effectiveness.
If you create a blog and select now to add analytics, how do you know if your site is effective or not? If the blog or online presence is for business purposes it is imperative to have the ability to analyze its effectiveness. Analytics will tell you the demographics of your visitors, when they visited, where they came from, what they clicked on your site and more. This allows you to see what you can do to improve different aspects of your page, what is working and what you can scrap.
There are free programs to help you along but if you are challenged you can opt to go with a professional consultant. Regardless of what option you chose, there should be plans to integrate analytics into your marketing strategy if you have not done so, sooner rather than later.
Ok, get to it!
